Many families with low incomes have no childrens books at home.

The goal is to collect and distribute childrens books and give them to families so they can read together. Parents who read aloud to their children create a ripple effect throughout the entire family by showing the importance of reading from adults to children.

By re-purposing books, we can fill empty shelves of schools across Texas. In particular, charter schools do not receive adequate funding to establish quality libraries and media centers. By collecting books and distributing them to these schools, we will bring learning to a whole new level for these children.

Also, the collection of used books will save tons of paper from going to the landfill! By working to recycle books, we are eliminating waste and helping to show that we care about the earth. We are doing this through teaming up with local and national organizations in order to be responsible with the resources we have been given.
