Resource One Credit Union is helping children in the DFW metroplex by hosting book drives at seven of their locations.  Each location will have a drop-off book bin where visitors can leave their donations.  The book drive is targeted for children in K – 5^th grades.  The book drive runs from August 1 – August 31.  Donations can be dropped off anytime during normal business hours.  After the drive the books are given to Book Drive For Kids for distribution across the entire metroplex.  Book Drive For Kids gives all material away free of charge to any child in need.  Please come out and show your support by donating your new or gently used books to one of the Resource One Credit Union locations.  To find a location near you click on: www.r1cu.org

The students at The Anderson School in Manhattan, NY have collected over 1200 books for disadvantaged children!  Event leader Stephanie Kang said they have 20 huge boxes of books.  The students worked hard and their efforts have paid off.  The books from this book drive have been donated to the Boys & Girls Club of Madison Square, Manhattan, NY.   Book Drive For Kids thanks everyone who had a part in this event!

Vista Academies of North Texas requested summer reading materials for many of their disadvantaged children.  They wanted their students to have fun reading some classics like; Black Beauty, Robinson Crusoe, and many more.  Book Drive For Kids came up with a hundred books for their students.  These are books that the kids can take home to keep and enjoy.  Book Drive For Kids is proud to partner with Vista Academies of North Texas.   For more information go to: www.vista-academies.com

The Dallas -based Grubbs & Ellis Management Services employees’ recently collected 100 books which benefit the Book Drive For Kids program.  The May event lasted from the 20^th – 31^st.  Event organizer, Lynette Finley was instrumental for the success of the book drive.  The large quality of books donated will be distributed to needy kids this summer.  Thank-you goes to everyone who had a chance to participate.

Boomerang Comic in Lewisville is celebrating the comic art form on Saturday May 17, on Free Comic Book Day and has name Book Drive For Kids as their charity of the day.  Everyone can come to the store and receive 3 free comic books and are encourage to donate some comics to Book Drive For Kids.  All of the material donated will be distributed free of charge to disadvantaged children in the metroplex.  Book Drive For Kids is passionate about literacy and wants to make sure every child in America has age-appropriate books for their very own. There will be a Book Drive For Kids banner and collection bin setup to receive donations. A BIG THANK-YOU goes to Mr. Neal Rhone, owner of Boomerang Comics, for inviting Book Drive For Kids to the event and naming us as the charity of the day, thanks Neal!

Capitol One Bank in Frisco, TX ended their Book Drive For Kids book drive and collected 44 books for needy children.  Marina Leonova, an employee of the bank, was instrumental in promoting the drive.  Thank-you to all who donated and made the lives of children brighter by giving them a book!
